Flame Pharma has an excellent opportunity to work in a challenging Clinical Project Manager role, providing customer-focused leadership in managing multiple Phase I through Phase IV clinical research trials across functional areas. This position is accountable for the successful completion of all assigned projects on time, within budget and in compliance with all applicable regulations. Additionally, this position has accountability for proposal development and bid defence for assigned RFPs and functions as an integral part of the selling team.

Background

As a Clinical Project Manager, you will provide customer-focused management of multinational and/or domestic Phase II-III trials from planning to delivery, with the opportunity to act as Global Clinical Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages one or more full-service, multi-national and/or domestic projects, from proposal development to final deliverables to the customer.
• Co-ordinates project organization, implementation and management activities between all Company operations and the client.
• Serves as the primary client contact at the project operational level.
• If assigned to global projects, may serve as the Global Clinical Project Manager for multi-national trials.
• Prepares the Project Plan including timelines and communication plan and monitors against projected progress; ensures project activity compliance with plan.
• Develops and implements alternative solutions to problems with study timelines, schedules, resources, budgets, etc. for the projects for which he/she is accountable.
• Assesses resource needs with Operations Support for multi-national and/or local trials, and in conjunction with CM establishes appropriate project team. Monitors ongoing resource needs for assigned projects.
• Provides appropriate project tracking using computer assisted programs and ensures up-to-date tracking and resolution of any project issues.
• Assures the development of Project Specific Operating Procedures (PSOPs) by functional area, as necessary.
• Directs proposal preparation and bid defence activities as required. Evaluates and manages project budget against project milestones to ensure project profitability.
• Takes corrective measures where necessary to keep project in line with budget and profit expectations. Assesses scope of work against contractual agreements and identifies change in scope; when appropriate, responsible for preparation of CIS and presentation to customer.
• Prepares and presents study material at client meetings and communicates outcomes to project team. Reports study progress, issues and scope of work considerations for assigned projects to manager.
• Administratively responsible for assigned direct reports, whether or not on assigned projects. Develops new business opportunities whenever possible (e.g., while in attendance at professional conferences/seminars); participates in new business development activities including participation at client presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applications for the role of Clinical Project Manager are invited from candidates with a life sciences degree.  This qualification should be further supported by clinical research industry experience to include project management, successfully demonstrated Lead CRA role.
• Knowledge of GCP and all applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory. Previous technical and managerial experience in conducting multi national and/or local clinical trials in a hospital setting, pharmaceutical company, or CRO is preferred.
• With excellent verbal and written communication skills, candidates should be expert at directing, leading, negotiating and acting as a liaison between multi-disciplinary departments and have a flair for multi-tasking. Regular international and domestic travel should be expected.
