One of the Worlds leading clinical development organisations is working with Flame Pharma to recruit the Director of Start-Up Services for their offices in Berkshire.  Providing strategic direction to the Europe/Asia-Pacific/Africa Start-up Services, the Director of Start-Up Services will be a pivotal, global appointment and requires proven senior experience within clinical development on an international scale.

THE ROLE:

The Director of Start-Up Services will set overall direction, strategy and performance standards for multiple job disciplines to assure that project profitability targets are achieved.  You will ensure services provided to clients are compliant with company policies, procedures, SOPs, ICH-GCPs, client contractual expectations and country specific regulatory requirements.  You will manage the operational budget and line manage the division, plus provide input to central proposals for project bids to ensure all projects can and will be managed within contractually agreed upon schedules and budgets.  The Director of Start-Up Services will provide guidance and insight on aspects of clinical operations, as well as contingency planning, to accommodate project or therapeutic-specific issues while identifying potential impacts of the same to budget.  You will participate in client presentations and/or bid defence meetings, and may function as a legal representative in selected countries as appropriate.

THE PERSON:

A degree level candidate (advanced degree preferred).  The Director of Start-Up Services will have substantial clinical trials development experience with international clinical development experience desirable.  You will have substantial experience supervising or managing professional staff in a clinical research environment and you will have thorough knowledge of ICH and local regulatory authority regulations regarding drug research and development.
