Background

As one of the World’s largest Clinical Research Organisations, they deliver a full range of services and solutions through its worldwide offices. They are now working with Flame Pharma to recruit a Medical Writer I.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, create, edit, and coordinate the production of clinical documents, especially clinical study reports and protocols
• Provide writing support for more complex clinical documentation, with appropriate departmental supervision
• Responsible for the production of clinical study documentation associated with clinical trials that may not be included in a regulatory submission
• May serve as primary technical contact with client under appropriate departmental supervision
• Write clinical documents associated with submissions to regulatory authorities including but not limited to: investigator brochures, study protocols, model informed consents, interim and final clinical study reports
• To prepare clinical documents that are not necessarily part of regulatory submissions, including but not limited to study manuals, monitoring guidelines, and manuscripts
• To serve as the primary client contact under departmental supervision
• To serve as the Medical Writing representative on assigned project teams, providing proactive support to Project Management for planning efficient work plans and timelines for medical writing deliverables, and medical writing input into other departmental deliverables
• To provide medical editing review of draft and final documents prepared by other writers before internal or external distribution. This includes both copy editing and content review.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences/Health Related Sciences or equivalent
• Experience of medical writing of regulatory documents in a contract research organisation, pharmaceutical or biotechnology firm or extensive experience in the conduct of clinical research/medical communications
• Experience of the pharmaceutical industry and medical writing desirable
• Good clinical/scientific writing skills
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Good word processing skills, familiarity with Word for Windows
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
