Flame Pharma are currently working alongside a leading Research organisation in recruiting an oncology research nurse based in the South East London area.

The Role

The role of oncology research nurse is to support and assist in coordinating cancer clinical trials. Assist in achieving the targets for patient recruitment into clinical trials, promoting quality research with the provision of timely and accurate data. To act as key worker for patients and carers throughout their clinical trials experience. To line manage junior staff.

The Person 

You must be a fully NMC Registered General Nurse with proven post registration experience, including working in an acute setting with cancer/haematology patients. Up to date knowledge of national cancer plan, cancer services, care and treatments is essential as is the ability to provide support to patients during their clinical trial experience. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of clinical trials, possess well developed organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a wide multidisciplinary team and patients is essential.  You must be able to work independently and be an excellent team player. In addition, you will need to be competent in the use of computers at a basic level.
