Medical Communications - Medical Writer Job in West Sussex

Flame Pharma are working alongside a Global-leading Medical Communications company to recruit for an experienced Medical Writer with Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry experience.

This is an exciting, permanent position offering a very competitive salary and unlimited potential to develop within Medical Writing. You will be preparing accurate scientific content for a range of medical communications materials in order to satisfy internal editorial and account standards, as well as external client needs in terms of quality, focus and timing.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not exclusive to:

Writing and editing high quality, scientifically accurate content for a range of medical communication materials ensuring that the content is:

• Editorially accurate (spelling, grammar, consistency, logic and flow)
• Scientifically accurate (data, facts references)
• Clear and appropriate for the target audience materials are delivered within deadlines and are fully referenced
• Outputs conform to the objectives and specifications of the account/client needs and internal specifications/brief as well as internal quality standards

Other Duties include:

• Ensuring that medical copy is produced in accordance with the client’s preferred style and that it meets the communication objectives of the client and account
• Maintaining current knowledge of relevant industry guidelines, recommendations and best practices and share with the team as necessary
• Develop and maintain knowledge, awareness and understanding of the client’s market, product profile, competitors and trends
• Accurately record and monitor time spent on projects versus budgeted time

The ideal candidate will:

• Be educated to at least 1st degree level (in a life or medical science or similar qualification)
• Have relevant medical writing experience in a healthcare communications agency or the pharmaceutical industry. 
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to work independently and in teams
• Be able to travel internationally when required
