Medical Writer

Background

In this senior role as a Medical Writer you will be working in coordination with the senior Client Solutions member. You will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts for new or existing clients. The role will involve heavy interaction with the client teams, requiring regular travel within the USA and occasional travel within Europe. In addition, you will be required to interact with internal teams as well as manage their specific account team(s).

Key Responsibilities

· Research and write primary and secondary manuscripts, slide kits, and other medical education initiatives

· Direct/manage others to achieve the above

· Review drafts of copy written by in-house non-senior scientific solutions writers, providing feedback in a mentoring capacity.

Qualifications and Experience

· Excellent and versatile medical writing skills

· Ability to generate materials to a high standard and high quality, with minimal internal review/assistance.

· Significant experience developing content for different medical audiences.

· Excellent quality control skills and meticulous eye for detail.

· Experience developing, strategising, and managing publication programs.

· Ability to develop strong relationships with medical thought leaders.

· Proven ability to work with clients on projects, ensuring they meet strategic marketing and medical needs.

· Experience with new business generation (proposals, pitches, etc), offering scientific perspective.

· Excellent understanding of scientific/pharmacologic principles and mechanisms of action.

· Ability to line manage and/or mentor in-house junior medical writers.

· Ability to identify internal resources required to deliver output to client.

· Ability to take the editorial lead for coordinating delivery of sold scientifically-focused activities to client, including effective leadership and management of the writing and editorial resources to deliver the activities on time and within budget.
