Job Summary

Salary up to £50k

Flame Pharma is working alongside a worldwide research based pharmaceutical company in their search for an experienced Clinical Research Manager for their state of the art site in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire to provide direct oversight for clinical trials Phase II through Phase IV within a particular country, managing the clinical trial staff that conducts those trials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.

The Role

Reporting to the Clinical Research Director you will manage relationships and activities at study sites according to International Clinical Harmonization (ICH)/ Good Clinical Practices (GCP’s) and SOPs, potentially for more than one therapy area, research and identifying new sites and evaluating previously used sites in order to collect a realistic assessment of a site’s enrolment potential whilst participating in regular teleconferences with the Regional team, to discuss issues and ensure delivery of appropriate communications, overseeing training and mentoring needs of field-based clinical monitoring staff regarding study initiation, monitoring and study closure, as well as Therapy Area content training. You will provide constructive feedback to direct reports on an ongoing basis, career development advice and preparing employee promotion recommendations & participate in cross-functional committees/initiatives.

The Person

You will be a Clinical Research Manager with a college degree (BS/BA) or Registered nurse with extensive relevant experience as a Clinical Research Manager with direct monitoring experience & direct management experience with the ability and willingness to travel from 30-50%. You will be competent with Decision Quality, Interpersonal Savvy, Negotiating, Process Management and Building Effective Teams. You will have Managerial Courage, Presentation Skills with the ability and experience of hiring & staffing. You will of course have a full & sound understanding of scientific knowledge.
