Background

Due to expansion, our client is looking to recruit a Senior Database Specification Writer to write complex databases and tabulations using specialist market research software, ensuring all data is correct and has been verified. They will contact external agencies for out-sourcing of work, will be capable of checking and signing off questionnaires prior to printing, and can be the DP representative at any project meetings. They will also be capable of ‘caretaking’ the department when the DP Manager is absent and be able to agree timings for simple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist in the out-sourcing of data entry, spec. writing and coding as workload demands, ensuring high quality, value for money, timely work.
  • To liaise closely with project teams, to advise on the best ways of constructing questionnaires for efficient data processing, and specifically, to attend briefing meetings as appropriate on projects.
  • To agree timings for simple projects after consulting the overall DP Project Timings.
  • To ‘caretake’ the department when the DP Manager is absent.
  • To ensure that questionnaires for all projects are checked and signed off by a senior member of DP prior to printing and despatch to Field.
  • To write databases in both QPS and Excel, and to test and validate the databases prior to producing Input files for data entry.
  • To produce 100% verifications for data entered at MMR, for the DP Supervisor and his/her team to check.
  • To clean the data and produce tabulations according to the specification agreed with the project team.
  • To provide export data for the Data Analysis department for statistical analysis, and ensure that resultant information is added to the QPS data and any further tabulations are produced.
  • To ensure that all ISO procedures are followed and that the relevant documentation is completed and filed as appropriate.
  • To assist the DP Manager in training any new member of the DP team in the methods and practices of the DP department and in the use of key software.
  • To assist the DP Manager in training any new members of staff in how the DP department works, and how they can best interact with the rest of the company.
  • To take a pro-active role within the department and to constantly evaluate existing procedures and processes in all areas, putting forward new ideas where necessary.
  • To assist Senior Management with any other tasks as required.
  • To promote, at all times, a pleasant working environment for all staff and workers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Solid Data Processing experience
  • Degree in related field
  • QPS experience
  • Or Experience with Merlin or quantum systems
