Job Summary

Our client are looking to recruit a Senior Operations Manager in Packaging to manage their packaging team to deliver the required standard of safety, quality, service and cost performance on a day to day basis. To plan, prioritise and organise the technical aspects and the packaging of clinical trial supplies in a timely and cost efficient manner. To represent the company at client facing meetings and audits. The role is part of operations management team and the extended leadership team in Bathgate. It involves working in a GMP production environment and office areas. The role may require working outside normal working day to perform essential tasks or responding to emergency conditions.

Senior Operations Manager, Packaging

Background

Due to expansion, our client are looking to recruit a Senior Operations Manager within Packaging to be based in their offices in Bathgate.

Key Responsibilities

§ Maintain capacity in line with business need. Including recruitment and management of agency staff

§ Agree and deliver packaging plan providing appropriate timely information as required

§ Ensure all activities of the packaging team are performed in accordance with cGMP, relevant SOPs

§ Ensure work order documents are reviewed for completeness, accuracy and conformance to GMP procedures and SOPs. Will include self-review

§ Maintain and improve the performance of the packaging department to meet the requirements of regulatory authorities, company standard operating procedures, external and internal customers with respect to quality, service, security, safety and cost

§ To oversee the training of line staff, and maintain records of this training in conformance with the appropriate SOPs § Liaison with Project managers, Business Development and clients with regard to all aspects of packaging clinical trial supplies globally

§ Provision of information required for proposal development and approval of subsequent proposals

§ Participation in management activities within the operational groups and promotion of cross training between departments

§ Ensure that the appropriate validations are enacted on time and documented

Qualifications and Experience

· Degree in a Life Sciences or Business related discipline

· Previous production management experience in the pharmaceutical industry

· Strong people management skills

· Good knowledge of cGMP

· A track record in managing operational outputs within constrained budgets

· Coaching, Developing and motivating others

· Excellent Communication skills · ‘Can do’ attitude

· Prepared to have a ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving
